Our History

The American Legion is the nation’s largest wartime veterans’ service organization with a membership of 2.7 million men and women.

All veterans of honorable service during a wartime period, and those currently serving on active duty, are eligible to belong to The American Legion.

Our Mission

Congress chartered The American Legion in 1919 as a veterans service organization. For more than 89 years The American Legion has remained focused on activities that honor God and country.

American Legion Post 40 of Ringgold, GA is poised to become one of the most active and influential posts in the Southeast so please come grow with us.

We support all the programs of The American Legion, including Americanism, Rehabilitation, Boys State, Girls State, Oratorical contest, and Legion Baseball. We also support our Navy Sea Cadets, Partners in Education, Air Force ROTC and various community services.

We meet the third Monday of each month. We begin at 6:30p.m. with fellowship, dinner and then our meeting.
